Frequently asked

How do I cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are managed through Apple. To cancel:

iPhone Settings → tap your Apple ID (top) → SubscriptionsFuelFinderCancel Subscription.

Your Pro access continues until the end of the current billing period.

Why are some stations showing as "Unbranded"?

FuelFinder uses OpenStreetMap as its base source for station data. Some station locations were mapped from satellite imagery but never tagged with a brand. These show as "Unbranded Station" until a community member identifies them.

If you know the brand of an unbranded station, open it in the app and tap "Know this station?" to claim it. Your report updates the station for every user.

Why are the prices sometimes off?

Gas prices are estimated based on brand and regional averages unless a community member has reported a recent real price. When you see the Community tag on a station, that price is based on real receipts.

You can improve the accuracy for everyone by tapping "Report Price" on any station detail page after you fill up.

How does the free trial work?

Pro starts with a 7-day free trial. You will not be charged during the trial, and you can cancel anytime before it ends with no charge.

If you don't cancel, Apple will automatically renew at $1.99/month (Monthly) or $14.99/year (Yearly). You can cancel anytime in iPhone Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.

Does FuelFinder track me in the background?

No. We only access your location while the app is open, to find nearby stations. When the app is closed, we stop receiving location data.

You can also deny location access entirely: iPhone Settings → FuelFinder → Location → Never. The app still works but you'll need to search manually.

Read our full Privacy Policy for details.

Can I use FuelFinder outside the US and Canada?

FuelFinder works globally anywhere OpenStreetMap has gas station data, which is most of the world. Price estimates are calibrated for US/Canadian markets though — in other regions, prices may be less accurate until we add regional calibration.

How do I request a refund?

Refunds for in-app purchases are handled directly by Apple. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in with your Apple ID, and request a refund for FuelFinder. Apple typically responds within 48 hours.

The app isn't showing any stations near me. What do I do?

Make sure:

1. Location access is enabled in iPhone Settings.
2. You have a working internet connection.
3. Pull down on the list to force a refresh.

If it's still not working, email us at bugs@fuelfinder.app with your city/ZIP and we'll check our data coverage.
